Four Links — How to Play
Four Links is a connections-style word puzzle. Your job is to sort all the words into groups of four that share a hidden theme.
The Goal
Find every group of four related words. The puzzle is solved when all words are correctly grouped.
How to Play
- Select words: Tap words to select them.
- Submit a group: Once you’ve selected 4 words, submit to check your guess.
- Adjust quickly: Tap a selected word again to deselect it and try a different combination.
- Locked groups: Correct groups lock in so you can focus on what remains.
What Makes It Tricky
- Red herrings: Some words look like they belong together but actually fit a different theme.
- Overlaps: A word can feel like it matches multiple themes — only one is correct.
- Order doesn’t matter: Themes are about meaning, not the order you pick the words.
Mistakes / Attempts
If a submitted group is incorrect, you’ll use up an attempt (shown in-game). When attempts run out, the puzzle ends. If you’re playing a non-timed mode, you can take your time—accuracy still matters.
Hints & Coins
Tap the lightbulb icon for hints (availability and types can vary by mode). Hints cost coins/tokens, so use them strategically. You’ll earn coins by completing puzzles, building daily streaks, and hitting bonus conditions like “no hints used.”
Daily Puzzle & Sharing Results
- Daily puzzle: A new daily puzzle is available each day. Completing dailies builds your streak.
- Share: Use the share button to copy a spoiler-safe results grid (Wordle-style) to your clipboard.
CrossGrids — How to Play
Arrange the words from the word bank into rows so that every row and every column forms a valid word. The puzzle is solved when all words are correctly placed.
How to Play
- Place words: Long-press and drag words from the word bank into rows.
- Swap: Drag words between rows to swap them.
- Return to bank: Long-press a placed word to move it back to the bank.
Fixed Letters
Some cells show bold letters that are fixed clues. These letters cannot change and help guide you to the solution. Use them to narrow down which words can go in each row.
Conflicts
If a placed word conflicts with a fixed letter, the cell turns red. That means the word is in the wrong row.
Using Hints
Tap the lightbulb icon for hints:
- Check Row — Tells you if a specific row is correct
- Reveal Letter — Shows the correct letter for one cell
- Reveal Row — Places the correct word in an entire row
Earning Coins
Earn coins by completing puzzles. Bonuses are awarded for:
- Perfect solve (no wrong attempts)
- No hints used
- First puzzle of the day
- Daily puzzle streaks
You can also watch ads in the Store for extra coins.
Star Ratings
Earn up to 3 stars based on solve time:
- 3 stars — Under 1 minute
- 2 stars — Under 2 minutes
- 1 star — Under 5 minutes
Using hints caps your rating at 2 stars.
Daily Puzzles
A new daily puzzle is available each day. Complete daily puzzles to build your streak and earn bonus rewards. Longer streaks mean bigger bonuses.

Quick answers to the most common questions.
How do I restore purchases (ad-free / coins)?
On iOS/Android, purchases are tied to your store account. Use the in-app Restore Purchases option (if available), and make sure you’re signed into the same Apple ID / Google account used to buy. If it still doesn’t restore, contact us with your device/OS and what you purchased.
I bought ad-free but I still see ads — why?
First, fully close and re-open the app. If ads persist, it may be a delayed entitlement sync. Contact support and include the platform (iOS/Android) plus what kind of ad you’re seeing (banner/interstitial/rewarded).
Coins/hints didn’t update after a purchase.
Restart the app and check your connection. If it’s still missing, contact us with your purchase type and platform. (Refunds and charge issues are handled by Apple/Google.)
Four Links: why was my group marked wrong?
Groups are checked against the puzzle’s intended themes. Some words have tempting alternate connections. If you think a puzzle is genuinely broken, send the puzzle date/mode and a screenshot of the board.
CrossGrids: why is a cell red?
Red indicates a conflict with a fixed letter clue—meaning the word doesn’t belong in that row. Use the fixed letters to narrow candidates and test swaps row-by-row.
How do daily puzzles work?
A new daily puzzle appears each day. Completing dailies builds your streak and earns bonuses. If your daily timing looks off, include your timezone when you contact support.
Can you delete my data?
If you want data deletion or access, email us at admin@tribuslabs.com with the app name and enough info to locate your record (device/OS, approximate date/time, and any email used for support).
